Anna Vance has always been a Husker at heart.

Vance grew up in Elkhorn, Nebraska. Like many who grew up in this state, her first memories of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln came from the seats of Memorial Stadium.

“I grew up cheering for the team and going to the games,” she said. “I didn’t come to Lincoln often as a kid, but I love how it feels both big and small at the same time. It’s truly a college town.”

As Vance grew, she realized there was more to the university than its football program. She transferred to UNL after completing her first two years of college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Since then, the junior management major hasn’t looked back.

“I’ve loved my time at the College of Business,” Vance said. “My professors are amazing and do a great job of being there for me when I need it.”

Vance is the recipient of a scholarship through the N Fund – Business Scholarships. As a transfer student, Vance said she wasn’t expecting to receive much financial support.

“I am so grateful for the scholarship I received and appreciate the university providing opportunities such as this to students like me," Vance said.

The scholarship has also allowed Vance to focus on her studies and take advantage of resources like the Business Career Center. The center has helped Vance develop her résumé and strengthen her interviewing skills.

All of these opportunities would not have been possible without scholarship support through the N Fund – Business Scholarships. Vance said a simple thank you to donors who have supported the fund doesn’t go far enough to properly reflect the impact of their gift.

“Furthering my education means a lot to me and my goals of being successful after graduation,” she said. “I strongly believe it is important to continue supporting students through this fund, as it may be someone’s only chance to be able to further their education.”
